Newsroom Standards & Ethics

Integrity, Accuracy & Fact-Checking Policy

Our commitment to rigorous truth-seeking, fair attribution, source protection, and transparent corrections.

Fact-Checking & Verification

Every factual claim, timeline, and statistical assertion published in The Meridian undergoes rigorous editorial verification. We cross-reference primary source documents, official records, and firsthand interviews.

Corrections & Retractions Policy

When errors occur, we correct them promptly and visibly. Correction notices are appended to the relevant story explaining what was altered, why, and when the change was made.

Sources & Confidentiality

We prioritize on-the-record sourcing whenever possible. In cases where confidential sources are essential to uncovering difficult truths or protecting personal safety, the editor-in-chief must independently verify the source's identity and corroborating evidence.
